Stuff and Signs

Good morning, are you ready to smile? The caption on the e-mail was 'Signs you wont be seeing again' and whomever it was that conjured up these ads would find themselves tarred and feathered in today's world. I never did have one of these big fancy mixers but I sure did a lot of cooking and enjoyed every minute of it. It wasn't the cooking that was a problem it was trying to come up with a new menu every day. "Jean" dishes would have filled a cookbook.
I always thought 'gay' was a nice word but 'Ovaltine' was not one of my favorites. As far as I know 'gay' is still in the dictionary and I see no real good reason not to use it in the context it was meant.

Here is another abused word, but what would we have done if we had not had great fairy tales to read and what would become of us if we lost our sense of humor with the wonderful little people.

A ride up to Whaleshead for a cup of their delicious chowder and this time I had my camera so took it out and went around the room so I could show you a little of the decor. The two new heads are on the left and right of the deer, both different but no names for them. The one on the right is really beautiful, mixed colors of bronze and gold and striking black on the nose.

the beautiful pheasants are right over the kitchen where the chef is preparing crispy halibut and tasty cold slaw. This time the chowder was a bit salty so I told the waitress to have the chef put a whole potato in the pot and lighten the salty taste. He had never heard of it, but then he probably has never head of the little fairies either.

Here he is, king of the wall. Bet he was a big one and that expression doesn't do him justice. A smile wouldn't even help. I probably would have the same expression if you stuffed me and hung me on a wall. . . well, a few folks have had that idea once or twice in my life. All in all the restaurant is a good place to stop at and the view from the windows overlooking the huge Whale rock is well worth the ride up there.
So today, Tuesday, another stormy day for us, I hope you find fair weather and a delectable lunch somewhere close by. There was an article yesterday about a new full moon coming this week and it will be closest to the earth than it ever has been. According to the article it might bode more active weather patterns, well, we can handle that as long as it is not another tsunami or an earthquake. So hang on to your hats in the wind and smile today. Hugs to all.
