Headstone Humor

A friend sent me an e-mail with lots of pictures of tombstones which gives us an idea of how some folks thought of their time here on earth. A sort of 'last word' to those left behind. Now this person saved his or her thoughts to the very end and certainly gave the universal sign of exactly how they felt about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, their mate, their in laws, a puzzle to unfold. Makes you wonder.
Aah, a Golf lover. I am surprised there are not millions of these stones in every cemetery. All golf widows would probably think of finding a way to cement the real golf bag and clubs, then place them on the graves with a few bent and broken. Then they could amble on to the 19 th hole and celebrate with a martini or two.

A true lover of a motorcycle . . . one way to take it with you.

Now this one you have to admit is clever. Some folks have a lot of imagination. I love to play scrabble but I would never have thought to have a tombstone made of one. What words would I put on it? um. . . I'll give it some thought . . . but , on the other hand I really do not want a tombstone. I would prefer to stay out of sight, and out of mind, and that you all got on with your lives, one day as they come, and when you did make your way to church you would amble over to the candle stand and light one for all of us who have to stand in line to get into the gates of infinity, and remember to do a good deed as they count too.

A sign of the times. Political cartoonist do have a way with words and pictures.

Aah, a debatable cartoon that should bring about some thought as to what is truth and what is fiction. Entitlements are being blamed for our woes and I could get up on my soap box about how I feel about this particular subject. Give thought to the millions of people who spent a lifetime paying into the 'system' which the politicians have abused by spending the earned monies belonging to the retirees and left IOU's which they can never pay back. Both the Social Security and the Medicare systems have been abused, one by the leaders and another by us. . . oh yes, the people who cheat and steal from 'the systems' and for the big boys who help them do it. Life is not fair . . . you have heard that over and over . . . but . . . it should be.
So today, Friday, and a new weekend looms . . . hopefully warm and dry where you are. As for us, more rain, thunder and lightening in the middle of the night shaking and rolling around sending teeming rain. In spite of the rain, the front porch is all but finished and I should have some pictures for you soon. Make your seconds count today, don't waste your time and energy worrying about things you cannot fix or do anything about. Keep your faith. Hugs to all.
